and persistent verrucae.

Verrucae develop in the upper layer of skin, known as the epidermis. The immune fighting cells are deeper, in a layer called the dermis.

Dry needling is carried out painlessly under local anaesthetic. Once the foot is numb, a technique which involves puncturing the lesion into the deeper layers of the skin is performed.

Dry needling helps to destroy the verrucae virus by:
Pushing the virus into the deeper adipose tissues, in order, to initiate an immune response so that the body can recognise and kill the virus.

The affected area is then dressed for 24 hours with most people only reporting slight soreness for a few days.

It generally only requires the one treatment but on occasion a follow up treatment may be needed.

If you have a Verrucae that just won’t respond to any other form of treatment therapy, then don’t despair, book a dry needling appointment today.

Pain in my arch and heels had changed my lifestyle and left me quite depressed as I had to stop running and training. My GP prescribed painkillers and offered little else. I came across Leicester Podiatry Clinic and Abid Lokat. All I can say is thank you so so much you have put my feet and my mind in a happier place.

I had 2 very painful ingrowing toenails for months. Leicester Podiatry Clinic carried out nail surgery on them. I was nervous to say the least but Abid’s calm and friendly manner from injecting my toes to removing the sides of the nails, through to his care and reassurance on continually seeing me until they were completely healed, made this unpleasant experience a walk in the park. I would recommend anyone to see him.
